United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

I think the strong £ also has a little bit to do with the cost of vehicles in the US.

I'm guessing that the £36,421 price posted by RRUK equates to about $70k plus at the current exchange rates.

Go back a while to when the pound wasn't so strong and the same US price would have equated to approx £45k plus.

This is not a good time for LR to be experiencing record sales in the US. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

It will be the Ford shareholders that are getting excited Brian.

After all, Land Rover are one of the few parts of the Ford Empire that are currently making a profit. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Off topic. I remember when I moved over to Southern California from Italy in 1985. Back then, I used to tell my friends I left behind about the ongoing problems and debate about illegal immigration from Mexico here, and they were looking at me like I was from Mars... Back then immigration issues in Italy were limited to a dozen guys from Morocco trying to sell Persian rugs on our riviera beaches in August, not exactly a National concern. Hell, the Berlin Wall was still up! My my, how things have changed since then.

South Africa looks like the cheapest RHD market.

An S/C for £48,000.

When I imported a SLK 5 years ago, EU law requires no trade barriers. Mercedes were still able to charge a RHD surcharge. Anyone know if they still do that / a foreign RHD dealer that is good?

Can't see how they can surcharge for a RHD in a RHD market. No?
The surcharge I had was from a German dealer on the merc.

we were looking at buying either an X5 or ML before the RRS, and price list straight from Mercedes & BMW Germany listed RHD as a cost option.

RHD is marketed as a different spec so they can charge for it. It's not a trade barrier, it's product differentiation - their principal markets are all LHD.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. THe South African market is a RHD market. Thus no surcharge (unless there is stuff to add to make it UK spec).

Germany is obviously a LHD market. Thus the surcharge.
