Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White
TV requires disc

Hi

Just purchased a RRS Autobiography 2013 from a franchise dealer.

when i try and watch the TV it states "insert disc". There isn't a disc with the car. I contacted the previous owner and she states that it worked fine.

Also i have the bluetooth headphones to go with the TV but no charging cable. Any ideas where i can purchase a cable ?

Thanks

If it’s original fit then the headphones are battery not rechargeable.

If it says insert disc then you haven’t pressed the correct button or it’s an aftermarket kit. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Feeling kinda silly now.

Audio/ Visual was on dvd hence the insert disc message.
Tv working now

Thought the rubber grommet was for a charging cable, just noticed the tiny plastic screw for changing the batteries.

Many thanks 👍

Does anyone know if you can just buy a rear entertainment module and dvd changer and rear TVs as extras used from eBay and just plug into the car? Would the cabling be there in a model that didn't come with the option? I have a 2007 rrs HSE.

Retro fit is doable but not just plug and play. There is a really good write up on the disco3 forum where he fitted a rss setup in his disco (just google “disco 3 Rse retro fit”).

I have just gone through the process of retro fitting in my wife full fat rangie and despite loads of people saying it couldn’t/shouldn’t be done I decided to go for it anyway! Glad I did! I’m no expert but used the wiring diagrams and a bit of common sense and it’s all in and working. I love the fact we can control it from the front as our kids are you. If you don’t need that then aftermarket such as Rosen or another would be much easier!

Happy to answer any questions on what’s needed if you want to ask any. I also have a couple of modules going spare that may be of use like a hybrid tv tuner.

Very doable as it’s nearly a standalone system however it is very expensive unless you can get the entire system out of a scrap car and get IID or SDD. I would budget £1000 but more for a late car and it’s very invasive. I retro fitted the 2012 system and I had to have the entire interior out and the roof lining down. It’s not something to take on lightly unless you have time and enjoy tinkering. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

I was lucky, picked up everything I needed from a breaker for a good price. I managed to get around removing the headlining by using a set of cable pulling rods to feed the wires to the roof console , has to remove the front seats to route the cables but that was nice an easy. I guess the sport is a little bit lore difficult that the full
Fat I did it in. All in cost for me was considerably less than £500 even with having to source a remote and headphone separately. The trick I found was not being in a rush, it meant I could find the right stuff at the right price. Was looks for about a year on and off probably!

Less than £500 is a very good price, which year was that?

The only thing I’m missing and can’t find as a spare part from LR is the special bracket for the wiring to the rear centre arm rest, got the wiring, just no bracket. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Was on the 2011. I have not
Done the touchscreen remote in the rear centre armrest as I can’t find one anywhere. Well, could find the remote, just not the docking station unless I bought a whole interior! Wasn’t that bothered so just use the other remote instead! Smile
