Whole wing mirror replacement - help!

An unfortunate accident today has led to my nearside wing mirror being totally smashed.

Due to time constraints and an impending long journey I had to get a replacement unit from Land Rover.

However I hope to replace the item myself, any tutorials available on this?

All help much appreciated!

It’s easy, pop the triangular tweeter trim off the inside of the door (lever the top, when the clip releases, look inside to see the bottom clip and pop a little screwdriver in to release that clip. Then push forward and lift to release the tweeter/cover).

Undo the electrical connector but don’t let the car side drop into the door card.

Drop your window so you can hold the mirror and undo the 3 torx screws.

Pull the mirror away and pull the connector through the hole.

There’s a few vids on YouTube.

Shame you didn’t have more time as I bet you could have bought some late disco 4 mirrors to upgrade cheaper than a new L320 mirror from JLR.

Oh, keep your old parts as you may be able to reuse some in the future if needed. Things like the memory motor are £70 on their own. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks!

I did manage to find a workshop guide (on here) but your advice looks like it could save me the trouble of taking the door card off if I am careful.
Fortunately I have various torx bits.

The only thing salvageable was the metal bit, the rest is smashed to pieces. In fact I'm lucky it didn't break the window!

I just checked and the car side connectors are actually fixed in place. However I can reach and disconnect them through the tiny hole so all good.
