I am not sure this is commonly known but when i was changing my wheel bearing I came across an issue with the new nut provided with the bearing.

It’s a superseded part, they were changed at a particular VIN. I’ll have to check the EPC. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

L/R don't actualy specify a VIN. change for just the nut, they say check the shaft to see which one is fitted prior to ordering, basically because the VIN may not be relevant if shafts had been previously changed to later one's I guess. Looking at the illustration if it is correct should be easy enough to tell difference one is a staked nut the other is a castellated style nut (LR024151) retained by split pin by the looks of it, although that may not be totally correct as my VIN starts DA (MY13) and that has staked nuts, may be down to which manufacturer supplied the shafts at the time.

The new nut is a much coarser thread, and is self locking |

Ive just replaced both wheel bearings on my early MY2010 and with the wheel bearings I purchased from AF Factors the wheel nut fitted fine onto the drive shaft. First I have heard of this and perhaps more luck than judgement in getting the wheel nut to fix. Surely there must be a start point of either date or vin number when the drive shaft changed, or a reason why the drive shafts were changed/altered. Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience. |

I think the problem is L/R list the two different nuts right through from 2005 up to 2013 the same with the drive shafts up until VIN No. DA800001 when the part number for the shaft changed to I assume a different shaft. The earlier shaft numbers have now been superseded to the same numbers as the later one's, so some earlier vehicles may have had the shafts replaced for whatever reason with the later shaft which is why L/R say to check the drive shaft before ordering just the nut, if you buy a new shaft from L/R I imagine it will have or be the later style nut. But in the case of pattern parts it may be different as I see GKN is mentioned but they could be o.e. It would appear the S/C and TDV8 have a different shaft to the 3.0 and 2.7 although the nuts are the same two for all, they may all be the same shaft now as well though, would have to cross reference part numbers to find that out.
