Tyres

Just a thanks to all on here about tyres, just replaced my original 275x40x22 conti silent early at just over 3mm as was getting slight vibration from rear of car at speed, hoped it wasn’t centre joint on prop, had Pirelli Scopion Verde all season fitted, didn’t realise they also had foam insert. Not run them in yet but what a difference, no vibration at all, and quieter, many thanks for the suggestion, and my local independent matched Motokiti.

I may just try Pirelli’s next as the contis I have on now are very noisy. Andy.

Tyre choice seems so complicated! Some owners swear by the Pirellis and consider the Contis rubbish; others have exactly the opposite opinion, considering the Contis better. Mine (same wheel size) has Contis on at the moment and all four are going to need replacing towards the end of the year. I find the Contis okay, but there again I haven't tried anything else, but at between £212-£252 a tyre, it's a hell of a gamble to take. 2013 L494 5.0 SC in Chile Red

Back in the early RRS days, the Conti specified had a reputation of wearing the outer shoulder very quickly. This appears to have been a feature of the particular tyre. Hence their bad reputation. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
