Hi Andy just 1 question what polish did you use please ?

I’ve got a Meguires MT320 machine polisher which also have 75mm backing plate for smaller areas,,I used a green pad with Meguires ultimate compound.

I had mine done by a local body shop after they became crazed. They are a very poor design with such soft black plastic. Very hard to keep them looking good. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

I found the RRS use of cheap parts on a very expensive luxury car a big disappointment.

After having my 2013 A4 Allroad “rainy weather runaround car” for 1 month, I am amazed that Audi can make gloss black A and B pillar trims that still look good after 6 years in the harsh climate and sun of Western Australia and yet the LR ones didn’t last 6 months on a car which was always garaged and parked undercover at work.

The A4 has just clocked 50,000 miles. I bought it from a used car warehouse. There is not a creak or rattle anywhere and the interior is still holding up well. The MMI and BT music / phone connection is more reliable than my RRS (so is BMW’s Car Play in the M3) LR could learn a lot from Audi.

Although I couldn’t fault my LR dealer, when I drove into the Audi dealer with my 6 and a 1/2 year old car to check some history, I was greeted as if I had bought it from them the day before. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

BKHK,i totally agree with you,it is a very por design for a top end motor,mine has the stealth pack with the matt black mirror cover,matt black lettering,matt black vents side & bonnet plus tow eye covers,it would have been better if they had also done the pillars & roof in matt black. Andy.
