Can anyone shed any light on why my 2007 V8 Diesel should belch out clouds of white smoke from under the bonnet after starting? It's not from the exhaust and it doesn't smell of anything obvious. It happens mostly after the car has stood for a couple of days or more and I drive it a few hundred metres from cold and then stop. I'm guessing that one of the fluids is dripping onto the exhaust and I'm seeing it being burnt off. Anybody encountered this one? |

A common problem that isn’t a problem at all! This means your fuel burning heater is working properly. It’s designed to prewar the engine in cold conditions and so reduce stress on the engine just after starting. It also reduces harmful exhaust gasses as the engine warms up. I have a remote fitted to mine and use it frequently even in summer! Robin 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Gone: Jaguar S-Type V8 4.2 Sport MGZTT 190 2.5 |
