Hi Andy. I had the same idea but was told the mirrors cannot be taken apart to remove outer casing. Therefore, it would be a lengthy and expensive job to remove full mirror assembly, prepare, paint and refit. Instead, I got a pair of genuine LR chrome mirror caps and had them professionally painted, then stuck on. As they're upper half only, they actually look better/sportier than the whole mirror, and it didn't mean losing use of the car for a few days to the bodyshop. Also a lot cheaper (parts from ebay £50, mobile bumper paint repair man £50). You must get your doorhandles colour-coded too, the standard silver/grey is really naff! Good luck! |

I'll try and get some pix uploaded this week, together with door handles and a few other bits such as Rossini Discs and four-pipe exhaust. |

I would recomend painting all the mirror. Looks better then half-painted... But that is to my taste. Door handles and sills also look good after colour-coding! 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500

Yeah, it is indeed a question of personal taste and I'm sure many would prefer the whole mirror painted. I did see the full mirror in black and it looked clumsy, so I opted for the half/cap type which lightens and smartens it up. Either way, its much nicer than the standard matt black. Handles look classy colour-coded and are a "must-do" item, my side vents are colour-cioded too, but I prefer the lower door mouldings left as original which breaks-up the vast panel. Thanks heavens they're not all the same and cloned. |

Quote for colour coding the upper half of the wingmirrors on my new TDV8 from Williams LR Manchester is £100 + vat. Should look good in Stornoway. 2013 RRS SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

Side vents look great with colour-coding (Car Styling Studio?), much better than the standard HSE or even SC. That's a great price for colour-coding the top half of the mirrors Paul, if it includes paint and materials. I do know they have to acid-etch (or something, help me out here fellas) the plastic first as paint wont take to the cover as it is. But I'd still go with top half only, has a sleeker look (thanks Jay). Hopefully it's a fairly quick turn-round?

Mcma1 I personally would only have half the mirrors done depending on the colour, but thought mine would look to 80's if I had the whole thing done.
Thanks JayMann |

I only wanted the top half done but thought this was an insert that could be removed. It would appear that the best way is to buy the covers which stick on as per the chrome ones. Have asked fpr a price from Car Stylin. They are in the dealer accessory book but are not available as yet.

Mcma1 no don't take it to a body shop and have them paint the wing mirror. I think the stick on ones look Sorry Martin. I don't like the way there is a gap when you look at the mirror head. |

I am so amused, just got a quote from car stylin studio for a set of mirror covers colour coded for £350!!!!!!!!! Really why do people take the ? I need to look closely at a set of the chrome ones and see the fitment but if there is a noticable gap as Misery feels i will just get the body shop to take the jeep for a day to do them, either way it will be cheaper than £350!! |
