United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Rimini Red
2007 3.6 tdv8 belt change

Hi all,

I'm this damp weather the auxiliary belt is squealing badly.

I have looked through the history of the car and cannot see any record of it being changed. She has 159k on 🙄

Is there a how to on changing all the pulleys/idlers/tensioner and of course the belt?

Thanks

You probably won't find one written by someone on here as the aux belt is a "change if required" item only.

Search for workshop manual on the forum and you'll find the manual which has LR's method of doing it. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

This needs to be resolved. The maintenance check sheet for UK and EU all models item 25 is change ancillary drive belt at105k miles for the 'diesel' but doesn't specify TDV6 or TDV8.

MY TDV8 is nowhere near 105k but it is 11 years old so changing the belts seems like a sensible option to me. I recall seeing posts from Bodsy about problems with the belt tensioner suffering from wear so it would seem sensible to consider replacing this the same time as the belts because it is a bit of a faff to gain access to the belts. Not particularly difficult but you may need the special tool to released the viscous fan . 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
