Engine oil flush - worth it

I’m coming up to my annual service and wondered weather it is worth putting in the flush just before it goes in. No issues or consumption just preventative as mine is a keeper.

If its a keeper & assuming you can diy, instead of flushing, I would rather change the oil every 6 months rather than yearly. In the grand scheme of things oil is not too expensive. Different if you need to put in a garage, then it becomes expensive considering what they charge for oil plus their time

It goes in for its annual at an indie to get a professional once over & I do DIY the oil change at the 6 month interval. I’ll save the cash for oil when the sales are on.

Steve
Do you have a vacuum pump to do your oil changes?
How’s the new oil in auto box? Thumbs Up

Hi mate,

I was considering one of those pumps and discussed it with Bodsy at your gaff, but I chose to get the 32mm socket (for the filter housing) and some of those plastic ramps so I will do one in the usual fashion.

With regards the box it’s seamless and even my wife has commented on how it’s just a engine tone change, well worth the money and no regrets.

Thinking of an IID tool next after you mentioned it. I think I should stop talking to you, you keep costing me money Rolling with laughter

I agree with Lindab and do oil changes every 6 months instead of a flush.

Always do a full drain from the sump and filter change. Remember to use a good quality filter - genuine LR or Mann etc.

I'd also recommend the IID tool Steve. It seems expensive, but it'll pay for itself when you consider what dealers charge for diagnostics and repairs. Kev
