Impressed with speed of engine warm-up

As the days have got colder, I have noticed one huge difference between the RRS1 and RRS2 (both SDV6) is how fast warm-air begins to come into the cabin - within half a mile of gentle driving the air vents are producing warm air even with outside temps at 5 degrees or less. I don't have anything clever like timed climate or aux heater on mine FYI.

Anyone know how they've done this? As far as I know, the RRS1 had a small Webasto diesel heater (mainly for emissions reasons) which helped to warm-up the engine faster but the RRS2 doesn't have this, yet still heats up much, much faster than RRS1.

Look forward to hearing why!

Purely for information - I have discovered that my car (not sure they all do?) has what's called a PTC Heater which is an electric heater which warms the cabin air far quicker than waiting for the coolant to warm up.

This clearly explains why the car warms up far faster than the L322...

Hello all
Last year I buyed the SDV6 and also noticed this. Also I saw that the cooling temperature goes pretty fast to ioerating temperature (I know, it's corrected by the software) but this warm air in the cabin is very impressive. Overall the RRS warms our feets much better then my 09 BMW 530d. Range Rover Sport HST D350
