An L405 owner seeking some wheel and tyre expertise please..

Good evening Thumbs Up

I’m an L405 SDV8 owner needing to ask about a set of “new take off” 20” wheels and tyres from an L494. The wheels look like this:

The tyres are described as “Michelin Latitude Sport 255/55R20 110Y All Weather”.

The only tyres of this kind that I can find from Michelin are described as “Summer” and neither “All Season/weather” or “M+S”. This doesn’t sound at all right for a LR OEM fitment.

Please would anyone with such a wheel, still with the OEM tyre, let me know if it’s marked as either of the above? Summer road tyres will see me stuck somewhere and I’d rather get it right. Thanks in advance! Thumbs Up

Michelin latitude all weather means all weather NOT all season their is a big difference,Michelin how ever do a winter tyre which is this one.People get mixed up with all weather & all season,,also with the M&S labelling.

My L494 has had those wheels and tyres from new - the tyres are clearly marked ‘M+S’.

 Current: 2020 P400e HSE Dynamic

Gone: 2016 SDV6 HSE

M&S doesn't mean snow tyres or all season tyres. That tyre is just a summer tyre.

Thank you to all three of you for coming back Thumbs Up

Thanks for helping out with the difference between All Season and All Weather. I wasn't aware of that one, but it sounds pretty obvious now!

The intention would be to get a useful life out of these tyres outside of winter if they are at least M+S rated, then to replace them with some winter tyres when they are worn (I drive 35-40,000 miles a year, so it won't take long Wink )

Thanks everyone for the links, they're all being followed up Thumbs Up

As it turned out in the end I bought a different set of RRS wheels with the Michelin Latitude tyres on. They are also marked “M+S”, but are purely summer tyres. I will wear these out over the summer and I’ve then bought a second set with Pirelli Scorpion All Seasons fitted, which I’ll then use as my winter wheels. All worked out well in the end Thumbs Up

I really like these wheels; they’re super smooth riding, a doddle to clean and also to keep an eye on brake pad wear without having to remove the wheels Thumbs Up I’ve also got no fear of kerbs any longer either Very Happy

Changing tack a little, do RRS’s use the 275/45 R21’s that I used to run?

I don’t believe the wheels you show in the 2nd photo were ever an OEM Land Rover wheel, but they were available on the F Type Jaguars and a very similar design is used on the I Pace 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
