Driving along an A road today, fairly busy and hear what I thought was a stone hitting the door glass on my side, glanced into the wing mirror to see a small piece of plastic bouncing along the road behind me, thought it was just some debris so carried on. Got home, got out the car and the piece of plastic I saw departing was infact the cover for lock on the door handle, great!!

Immediately spoke to the dealer and apparently it’s a very common problem on sports which is covered by my warranty, got to order one in then get it painted same colour. Will take a week!!

So who else has lost one ? Glad it’s covered but I’d expect them to stay on given it’s a luxury car!

I lost the drivers side a few weeks ago & told the same story about it being a fault but,,the dealer told me the approved warranty doesn’t cover it so it cost me £12.08 for a new one & my friend painted it for me.I told the dealer that’s the last vehicle I will buy from them after spending just under about 90k in the last 3 years with them on 2cars.

I’ve just dug the invoices out for the last 2 vehicles I bought from said dealer,,59k for my sport & 38k for the evoque so 97k in total & they charge me £12.08 for a door cap that is a known fault. Andy.

This Dealership must be managed by idiots.

I lost my cap on both l494s a few times and nobody would bother me with cost for such a bad construction from my dealership.

The loss for your dealer is much higher as you buy the next car not from them and furthermore you don’t recommend them anymore. 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

JLR approved warranty:-
It does not cover a door handle component
It does not cover crankshafts
So what does JLR approved warranty cover I assume it covers something  In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

We would rather have £12.08 today than 97K in the future. Maybe that one will fall off & we will get another £12.08 from him Common sense does not exist with some dealers. Name & shame them

We have some how managed to lose 2 never been charged for part or the painting

Yep. Mine fell off and was replaced under warranty last year.

This one shouldn’t fall off I put some superglue on it.As for the dealer,,Hatfields Pickering.

mine's just normal warranty I think, have service pack as well

Is your under 3 years old as they told me that's when they are covered & not by the approved warranty,,mines also on a service plan.Ive just put mine up for sale as im after a sdv8 about a 16 plate & we are also thinking about trading the Evoque in for the new shape,,BUT if I don't get any satisfaction from them some other dealer will be getting my 100k plus. Andy.

to be fair to Pickering, I can't fault them when ive had to contact them, time will tell of course.
