New engine? 2019 RRS HST 3.0 I6 P400 MHEV Petrol

When looking at the new 2019 pricelist of the RRS in Holland i saw a new enigine i didn’t heard of before. In the brochure there is nothing to be found about this model. HST looks like to be a extra sportive model.
Anyone know more about this model? I’m curious about the mild Hybrid part of the engine/car.

Good find!

Interesting indeed. Seems like they are carrying the Mild Hybrid tech launched on the new Evoque to the Sport now.

May be announcement soon I guess....not surprised with all the negativity around diesels they had to quickly get new petrol engines in.

Personally IMHO there is no engine better suited to a RRS than the 3.0 Diesel unit. Perfect mix of power, mpg and refinement,.

This will be the MILD hybrid, 48v system, a new version of the previous HEV that was available on RRS up to 2018,note it is an in-line 6 not a V6 too so the new 6 cylinder Ingenium Petrol. I hope that the oil dilution issue of the 4 cylinder engine has been designed out........... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

That's a lot of Euros Shocked

Tim, wasn't aware the petrol suffered from oil dilution. I was under the impression it was only the diesel models

Mikey, have heard that the I4 also can suffer the same issue as the diesel from an owner of one of the very few DS I4 Petrols that have been sold
Dangermouse - smaller HV electric motor possibly as LR like BMW rates total power of combined electric and petrol engines, not just the power of the petrol engine. 4hp/ps might not sound a lot but I bet it will be noticed (as the actress said to the bishop........)
My PHEV is rated as 224hp, but 87 horses are from the electric engine and the rest from the 3 cylinder 1.5 turbo petrol 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ah right so its just under 400hp

so that's the new I6 engine with mild hybrid

I see they're only doing it in one trim again like the last V6 3.0 petrol.

Sigh.

I notice also that all versions are listed as AWD and not 4WD ............ does this mean no low ratio transfer box in the standard car but an extra cost option? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

UK site still lists HSE as single-speed transfer box as standard, others get two-speed transfer box.

I think the problem with the 4wd and awd monikers is that LR merge the two because they are permanent four wheel drive (awd) but also get a transfer box (4wd). As the centre diff lock is out of the driver's control, I think generally they're seen as awd. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
