Differential service question

Differential fluid fill question: I’m doing front and rear drain and fill on the diffs on my 08 RRS (same as LR3) is it critical to fill only using the specified fluid capacities or ok to fill up to the fill plug level? Will be done on level ground.
Thanks! 2006 LR3 HSE

Fill with specified amount is the right way, tho' some have filled to spill and not reported any issues. 2011 MY D4 HSE

The specified fill amount and the amount needed to fill to spill is almost identical - because of this I just fill to spill - the difference is only a few ml. 07MY RRS TDV6
