I had a dash cam wired in an when the garage was doing it i gave them CTEK Comfort Connect Car Battery Charger Flylead Lead Cable - M10 Eyelet 56-329 an got them to extend the lead abit so it goes from the battery to the front grill abit of sticky extra strong velcro on the grill and eyelet keeps it in place! |

Measure the post diameter, cant remember offhand what it was. You get a Ctek comfort connecter with ring type connectors to fit this & as the posts are not a thread use (MINI FUEL LINE 304 STAINLESS STEEL HOSE CLIPS DIESEL PETROL WATER PIPE CLAMPS) search on ebay for that, you then are asked the diameter range. About £2 for 2

I’m not familiar with the battery connectors on the L494 but if it has the same Battery Management System (BMS) as the RRS1 then you should not connect the CTEK negative wire to the battery post as the BMS really won’t like it. Find a good earth somewhere nearby. |

The "remote" battery posts I had intended to use were the same as Tim in Scotland photographed (first image) in this thread.

Looking at the under bonnet set-up the negative terminal is just an earth connection to the chassis so that seems OK to me to connect a CTEK. |

Just to close this thread; many thanks for the suggestion re: mini hose clamps; I bought some 7-9mm clamps and they work perfectly. I cut a small slit in the side of the cap that goes over the positive terminal for the wire to come out of (see green arrow), and placed the Ctek connector in the gutter adjacent to the wiper. Works perfectly.
