I've used this site before and all items arrived ok.

Hi Bardley.

This is a Brilliant site, thank you. I haven't dipped my toe into bluetooth obd2 tools yet as I still dont know which one is best? I still have my hawk eye for my td5 which is a brilliant bit of kit but the cost for the unlock code for a l494 sport I could get a good bluetooth obd2 tool.

On this site there is so many bluetooth tools which one to choose? Suppose the one you put in the link is the best one ?

Cheers.

Hi
It’s been a while but the software upgrade has had moderate success. I’ve now gone 8000 miles since last oil change. This is twice the previous.
I suppose that’s the best we are going to get? Still only half the suggested interval.
Service indicator came on today although last week still had 1500 miles left- so sudden drop.
Do the newer models have this issue?

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

Is this software update simply making the threshold for triggering the warning higher?

That can't be good for the engine can it? Or were they running it at a very safe tolerance? Non JLR Vehicle

Yes, the update was designed to reduce LRs exposure to the cost of free oil changes by increasing the dilution threshold from 6% to 10% hence attempting to fool customers into believing that their cars now do more miles between oil changes.

Decide for yourselves whether you feel 10% oil dilution to be acceptable, oil companies don’t appear to think so. Plenty of info on the Discovery Sport forum on the subject including a number of engines failing just outside of the 3 year warranty period.

It is a massive LR cock up which they are trying to disguise by issuing questionable software updates and blaming the driver. Corporate led contempt for customers

This may well be true but do you have any facts to back up the allegation?

RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

This showed up on the Discovery 5 in 2017 just after it launched. Several posters on the D5 forum sent their oil for testing and found there was hardly any dilution and nowhere near the 6% figure.

There is no way to measure oil dilution from failed DPF regens so JLR try to calculate it and I guess on the very pessimistic side?

If in doubt send a sample off for testing. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

As I mentioned, plenty of info/evidence and facts if you look at the Discovery Sport forum. Too many to copy & post here

Different engine and more prevalent than the RRS but the principle is the same
