If you fit a Blackvue the lead has a right angle plug on the end which show even less cable, mine is a Thinkware which unfortunatly has a straight plug.

Another thought. The RRS is notorious for dirt on the rear screen. So if you mount it outside the sweep of the wiper you will reduce its effectiveness because of dirt on the screen. Also if you mount it high it you notice it a lot every time you look in the rear view mirror. I found it seemed to be right where I wanted to see distance behind me. I’ve just moved mine to the lower part of the screen beside the wiper but within the sweep of the blade. Robin

I have a Thinkware F800 pro hardwired front and back. I also have the factory tinted windows with an additional tint to make them darker and the images from the rear camera are perfect.

I actualy had a F800 pro fitted but as not possible to get a nice clean tidy install due to positioning and design of plugs on front camera I took it back out and refitted my F770, now it's laid in cupboard collecting dust.

It is a 3M pad supplied with the kit, I thought about positioning it higher but thought the dot matrix around the black may have stopped it sticking well.

Tried that, still didn't work as the sockets on camera still to close together and the plugs foul each other so cannot fit them in correctly due to the size of the moulding on the plug. If they had kept the cable entry from the top same as F770 would have been a lot better, ideal if they made a version for r/h/d vehicles as well. F770 camera fitted, not quite as visually attractive in appearance as the F800, all a matter of personal preference I guess, but able to make a lot tidier install on the F770 in my own personal opinion. ![]() Cheers Col Last edited by Col on Tue Dec 25 2018 9:53am. I've got the Blackvue 650 2 channel. Fitted it myself. Others seem to have gotten the cable hidden better for the rear camera. For my L494 i was informed that it is tricky to get cable completely hidden.

One advantage of not having tinted glass is that tailgating drivers tend to drop back when they spot the camera: I might add an amber flashing LED to mine. |
