I’d be more concerned with the issue of no compression on no.1 cylinder, that’s youre issue. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The sound and the lack of engine compression is clearly related. What was going on when the noise started? How do you know you have low compression.

If you think of what cylinder 1 is doing, the piston is trying to compress about 450cc of air into a small gap. If you don’t have compression it’s because there is a gap that air is escaping through. The exhaust valve will open and let out the uncompressed air and fuel mixture on the exhaust stroke. Depending on where the air goes on the compression cycle will have an effect on noise and damage to the engine. You could end up with fuel in the oil, over pressure of the cooling system, water in the oil etc. Etc. Hopefully it’s a cylinder head gasket and not a warped/cracked head. I’m convinced if you fix the misfire, the noise and white smoke will be gone. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Anyone know if the 2.7 has variable cams? I wonder if the mechanic suspects the variable cams seized. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
