Hello & Couple of Questions on 2012 Models

Hi everyone,

I am a newbie here and am looking to buy a 2012 RRS - either an SDV6 HSE or a Petrol 5.0 V8.

I have a couple of questions about these two models that I was wondering if someone could help me with:

1) Is the 825W stereo in the Autobiography / SC models that much better than the one in the SDV6?

2) Is it correct that the Park Remote Heater (FBH) cannot be retrofitted easily?

3) I can't tell if the 2012 model year was that much of a big deal for the Petrol model - on the SDV6 there is the 8-speed gearbox but I think the gearbox on the Petrol model stayed the same? Is that right?

4) Adaptive Dynamics (on the VCool - is this a big deal? From what I can see you don't get this on the HSE...

Thanks in advance!

W

Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

Hello Wombles, welcome to the forum

1) Not sure, only heard my A/B stereo, it's ok but as I listen via the USB then if Censored quality MP3's then it'll sound Censored too.

2) I thought the l320 was quite easy to add the module. I believe the timed heating is just a software change though. It's definately a good feature to have, pre-warms the engine which helps with cold start wear. The cabin warmth is a bonus too but heated steering wheel would in my opinion be a more essential option.

3) I think that's correct, apparently the older box was considered a good match so not changed.

4) I think it was an option on the HSE, standard on A/B SDV6 though. I suppose it depends on your driving style whether it is worthwhile as normal legal driving doesn't really make much difference, it does flatten the RRS on twisties though if driving a bit sportier. I rarely have mine on but maybe it's working in the background without me knowing? 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

The Dynamic system works all the time, selecting the Dynamic Mode in the menu changes the reaction time/ monitoring of the road conditions and resets the suspension and antiroll bar system. Not sure about L320’s but on all Evoque Dynamics and L494 RRS with it it also remaps the gear shift pattern and firms up the steering as well as firming up the suspension. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
