As long as the tread depth is not less than 1.6mm in the central 3/4 of it's width throughout the entire circumpherence, yes it is legal. Iv'e not seen a cross-ply or bias belted tyre for decades so assume they are all radials.

The car should have a service book with 5 stamps, the last in March this year. The service interval is every 15,000 or each year, on the registration anniversary, whichever comes first. If it only has 3 stamps then it does not have a full service history.

Four different tires on a 2013 Range Rover Sport says also something about the care this car was given. Any serious JLR dealership or Indy would disapprove this. It might not be illegal, but it is bad for the road worthyness and can even lead to mechanical stress.

As Hog said above, I’m getting the vibe of lack of maintenance and general care. If it’s worth anything I’d look for another, there’s plenty out there....

I got that impression to be honest which is a shame as it has so extras in it, the right colour combo and it was ticking all the boxes until I had the chat with him!

It's not necessarily the end of the world but be VERY careful. Needs a bullet proof warranty (don't know how good the RAC ones are) and certainly worth checking what else is available before parting with any cash on this one. Robin

Not sure what extras it's got, the spec looks the same as mine.

I told the RAC that their warranty wasn't worth the Paper it was written on the other day. My maps have gone after running a Land Rover update USB. So I contacted the RAC and they won't pay dealer labour rate (even though I haven't found an indie that can do it) and they won't pay diagnostic fees and even though the claims limit is £1000 they will only pay £500 for ICE (I can't imagine a big repair to the ICE will be any less than £500) 2016 Black SDV8 Autobiography 2013 Grey Black Edition SDV6 (lasted a while but gone now) 2005 Grey Supercharged Sport (gone but never forgotten) |
