Suspension - stuck in calibration mode..

Hi,

I have a 2006 4.2 Supercharged RRS which i have owned for 5 months so far.
I had a Foxwell NT-520 tool for my other car which can be upgraded for other manufacturers and thought why not install the Jaguar/Landrover add on... it appeared to work great, talked to all the ECUs cleared old error codes, etc..

I then thought, why not see if it can calibrate the suspension.. this is where things appeared to go wrong.... Big Cry
The calibration process started, opened the valves,(all good) it then said “ failed to close the front cross link valve” and that was it..
THere is a permanent DTC in the suspension ECU basically saying it is in calibration mode..

I replaced the front control valve unit today but the calibration process still fails at the same point..
all i can think is the tool is complete dogs b*****ks or there is actually a problem with my car which had been working perfectly for the previous 5 months.

Although the suspension warning light is on, the car drives fine and the suspension appears to deflate (diagnostically) and raise again correctly when driving ..

My assumption is the calibration settings were erased when i run the calibration process and it is now stuck in this mode..

Other than taking it to a dealer are there any suggestions regardng the “failed to close front cross link valve”? I probably need to check for harness damage or try a different diagnostic tool... I live in Oxford, so any recommended specialists in the area?
Thanks.

Try James French 4x4 in Standlake. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hello.
Have you tried calling the manufacturer of the tool. They may be able to send you a patch for the issue. They may be aware of potential issues on certain vehicles. Some of us on the site did beta testing testing for The iid tool approx 7 years ago. It's amazing how some vehicles suffer certain issues, but the developers are generally clued up on how to fix them MY12 RRS HSE

I put 250kg if tiles in the boot and 24 hours later the lights on
I will ask my independent to calibrate it first.

Censored as I have someone that wants to buy it at £8,500 2006 RRS Supercharged 4.2 HST muthuaflecka!

I took my car to a local garage who had the correct tool to calibrate my height sensor.

The light is now off...

Apparently my front near side level sensor is not working correctly and will need looking at. I will sort this out next week.

I have also raised a fault with Foxwell, the makers of my diagnostic tool. Lets see what they come back with.. RRS 4.2 SC

Hi
I have the same thing with my foxwell tool.
I tried to calibration the rrs and failed on the same problem.
Failed to close front cross valve
Sounds like a similar situation.
I have got a new front cross valve just haven't changed it as yet.
Have you heard back from foxwell as might do the same ?
Cheers

They asked me for a video of the failure.
I have it but haven't sent it yet.

I also replaced my valve but it didn't make any difference. The failure was the same

It is still on my iPhone. RRS 4.2 SC

In the foxwell tool go to tight tolerance control, select normal operation
Repeat this two times to get the module out of calibration mode and erase the red light.
Then go to Suspension enable to restore normal ride height.

This worked for me
