Denmark 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Doordefender

Hi, My name is Ted and I am new to the forum, anxiously awaiting the delivery of my new TDV8 in May...

I really enjoy reading all about your cars and your lives.

I'm already thinking about my beautiful new car and our very small parking spaces in Denmark. They always try to fit more cars in than there is room for. Have any of you experience with Doordefenders from Canada?( www.doordefender.com) Thanks.

Hello Ted and welcome.

I had a look at Doordefender's website gallery. I thought they looked like an awful DIY (Do-It-Yourself) attempt with a bit of pipe insulation. I think you would be better off sticking with Land Rovers own Door Defender from their accessory range. It's your opinion that matters though. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

The thing is with side strips is that wherever they are there are other parts of the side that are vulnerable.
Those look like they will do the job to a degree but they look very ugly and you would have to remember to do it every time (plus in the UK somebody would probably nick them Evil or Very Mad )

The best combination is probably the LR side strips plus LR side steps and then put the car into offroad height when you leave it.

Then keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best Wink

Mottakelse Ted i have to agree with rrsjo hiddieous looking things stuck to yur car, do what i do just take up two car parking spaces, or use the mother and toddler bays.

I might be wrong here, but does the RRS have aluminium body panels like other L/R products

Keep us informed as to the performance of yor RRS when you get it some of my Previous cars

Hi Ted. My "dent-man" told me the RR metal is soft and very prone to dings. I personally think strips look awful and don't do the complete job. Indeed, it's probably cheaper to pay for a few dings to be fixed every six months than buy the strips? However, I fully agree with Cliff to use genuine LR strips if you are going to fit anything, park set as high as possible, and definitely slap-on LR sidesteps. Not only do they look great, but offer enhanced protection and seem to scare clumsy parkers away.., well, slightly.

Finally, avoid parking near bloody women!!! Wink Whistle Rolling Eyes
