Hi guys so with winter coming up I'm wanting to get some good tyres put onto my RRS tdv6

I was thinking all season tyres or am I better to getting winter tyres and swapping them when summer comes around (seems like hassle to me)

Would rather prefer all season tyres so I don't have to muck about

Currently have 22inch low profiles on mine, what do you recommend and what are the best places.

I doubt they'll be much choice in 22 inch - what tyre size are you running?

I would think in all season you're looking at something like the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season as that's fitted to the current Land Rover range with their big wheels.

Otherwise, you could go down to a 20 inch - you can get the Michelin CrossClimate SUV in 275/45/20. It's a good all season tyre. Actually it's a summer tyre with winter rating. We have the non-SUV version on our Skoda Octavia as a "get her home" tyre so SWMBO can get home if it snows. Get very good reviews in comparison tests and work well all year round, quiet etc.

Down to 19 inch rims and there is much more choice. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Similar position here,
Pirelli Scorpion seems to be the only 22" winter tyre,
Don't bother with all season, again in my experience
its a false economy as you will get stuck in snow easily,
and the dry grip will suffer compared to summer tyres,

I am toying with a second hand set of smaller wheels and
getting a set of winter tyres from the much larger choice
you get from 20" downward..

The Michelin CrossClimate will perform in summer and winter. That's a simple fact demonstrated by tyre tests/reviews.

As for all season tyres, they are much better than they used to be. Some AT tyres are winter rated and perform well in both summer and winter. Not as good as pure summer or winter tyres in their respective seasons, of course, but well enough for UK use.

Oh, and the RRS will get around in snow on summer tyres if driven correctly. Going isn't a problem. Stopping is. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Is it a budget tyre your after as that’s what the davanti’s are.Haveyou had a look on www.camskill.co.uk/ you will struggle to get winters in 22”,if I were you I’d get a set of 20”s to put the Winters on as you get a lot more choice that size,even Camskill don’t offer a 22” winter.

SO I'm not too sure on the brand but deffo some budget ones. I will post brand tonight when I get back to the car.

both rear tyres were changed only 2 weeks ago, the front 2 have done around 4k miles.

right i have found some all season but I'm currently running 285/35/22 these are 285/40/22...not sure would be a good fit for me
