Also unsure if this works on that screen , but if you hold the valet button for 40 secs ( original interface) you can then do screen adjustment, maybe that could help you align the original interface display.

I can't recommend this right now, I haven't done the facia as I'm having trouble with the unit which the seller can't seem to resolve:

The back door when open show the opposite on the display
It's in KPH and can't be changed to MPH
The English is bad in places
The volume is set to full blast on the unit when you turn it on, this means it's distorted when playing, if you turn it down manually it's fine but I don't want to have to do this every time.
The Bluetooth doesn't show up my phone contacts just the number.
The 'native' display built in is off to the right
Everytime I need to change the rear seat entertainment for the kids it stops playing Spotify or whatever audio comes out of the unit. Apparently some whitelist needs to be changed to allow this but that means getting into the code

I'm trying to work with the seller to resolve these still, I have installed FCC to get around some of them but conflicts with the software on the unit regularly, causes apps to reload and cycle through.

If I manage to get it working to a reasonable standard I will let you know, but I think I'm going to end up getting a refund instead of keeping it at this point.

I should note these is an XDA thread on this unit and a 4PDA one, the guys have managed to do a number of hacks to get the units the way they want them. I simply don't have the time to invest at the moment.

Quick update on this:

I'm slowly getting there, the unit is much more usable now.

DAB+ radio works perfectly on startup, I have managed to put 4 large buttons on the home screen for DAB|Waze|Spotify|console(Original display).

I have found someone who is heavily modifying the firmware, hopefully he will be able to sort out the other niggles I have.

If anyone is interested, I'm happy to post up a video when I get a chance, just let me know.

I have someone that can make it for me from the LHD versions I have now, I'm just waiting until I'm happy with the unit first as it's expensive. I will PM you in a min.

Wow, seriously impressed with what you’ve achieved Thumbs Up , looks like you’ve also got rid of that horrible lag you get when you press one of the onscreen buttons and then have to wait ages before it decides to do anything. Once you get the trim fitted will you post up some more pictures, would like to see how it all looks once finished. Cheers.

Gerd, Does it use the factory software interface for reverse cameras ? Also the parking sensors ?

I think it just fits to the front of the FCDIM so it can still use (the system still needs it) software/most/gateway etc. The one thing I suspect it won’t do is work as a dual view as it won’t have the shutter technology installed. Although I think the CCF can be edited to display Tv on the move without any of the trick boxes you can buy. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Bit of background to explain how it works....

The OEM unit comes in 2 parts, the screen which is attached to the 'processing unit' or 'computer' which tells it what to display. To install the tesla screen you separate the two, and detach the ribbon which connects the screen to the 'computer' , you the attach the ribbon to the tesla screen which provides the tesla unit with the OEM interface and screw the computer to the back of it.

This means that you keep everything as it was before you installed the unit, the only difference is 'dual view' which I lost when installing this, although we never used it. I think this is the reason why the original interface you see on the tesla screen is off to the right, as it's picking up a signal that is off to the right to make dual view work, I'm planning on buying a 'single view' unit to try and correct this.

By going into the 'control' menu on the unit you have access to the OEM interface and can use it in exactly the same way you would before installing the tesla unit.

The tesla unit gets audio to the OEM unit via a headphone jack into the Aux connection at the back seats. As the OEM unit is still controlling all audio the parking sensor audio still works as normal. When you switch to Reverse the Tesla unit simply displays the OEM interface which had already switched to the rear view. The little car you see underneath can be removed in the settings and does not display any information as to how far you are away from anything around you.

Hope this answers your questions.

You answered my question in the last bit.

Was unsure when selecting reverse did it load up the original interface or had they implemented new software.

What about Phone ? Does it carry on/switch to using the old interface when you get a phonecall
