For those of you that might use it on your replaced stereos, I've just discovered that the latest IOS release has enabled Google Maps on Apple CarPlay:)

GM is far better than the Maps app Apple have put on there, so its actually become a usable SatNav now. The stereo I have does not have a SatNav function, so this is a bonus.

I find that the RRS SatNav is somewhat limited, insisting on motorways etc whereas GM is far more flexible and accounts for traffic, often suggesting new routes & so on.

Only limitation I've found is that with an RRS's stereo position and not using the navigation (just following roads) then it's hard to see the roads against the background. Its not as if you'll be using the Satellite option, is it? You can always use the OE stereo in that situation.

Anyway, I'm happy.
