2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Alaska White

P2290 fault fuel issue

Fuel issue.

Hi can anyone help? Getting fault P2290 on my 2006 sport. Gap shows as inj control low pressure. Car loses power over 50 or if you boot it from a stand still.

It has been fine, exçept for today.

Could it be anything to do with the battery? We have been away for 2 week and this morn the battery was dead.. Jumpstarted, wife went to work, said was fine, then this on the way home on the motorway. Car reduced to 30mph. Terrifying she said.

Read up on the usually being filter etc but whats the likelyness off it being either of the pumps? Cheers

Update, replaced fuel filter. No change. Can anyone point me in the direction of the lp pump, relay, fuse and where the connector is at the rear of the car please so i can rule that out? Theres no pressure at the lp scraeder valvr at rhe top of the engine bay either. Weird as it drives fine u less foot down. Cheers

Unable to check rail pressure either as my Gap has decided not to work.

aghhhh any input on the below Mikey?

Brilliant write up Robbie, has helped me lots. My 2006 sport eventually died today. Wont start at all now. I had the 2290 code up.

My Gap has also decided to kick the bucket so I cant look at live values.

Fuse 1 is fine and has power to both sides on the purge sequence.

R8 relay pulls in. I removed the plastic shrowd and push the relay in manually whilst pressing the schraeder. I have no fuel pressure there at all. Censored

Was getting no reading at all on amp meter.

So my next question is where do i go from here?

where do the pump wires run too? and where can i test before I pull the tank off to check the pump?

No amps = no current draw = faulty LPFP (usually. Need to drop the tank and check for power/earth at the pump now)

Problem solved. Whipped the tank off, was suprisingly easy apart from being half full.

Took the pump out and it was full of crud in the swirl pot. Stones, flys the lot. Put power to the pump, nothing.

Sprayed some wd through it and gave it a nudge with a screwdriver and away it went. Cleaned the bittom filter out with wd and boiling water. Cant believe how much crap was in it. Re- assembled and boom off she went. Im guessing there was a small srone or summit in the pump.

Yea flap is fine mate. Guessing could be from anywhere. Flys tho?
