United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey
V8's are Soooooooo cool

I had the usual trip to work today which involves a round trip of about 165 miles , plus train journeys into London. Most of the driving is just constant 50-70mph on the M1, when we're not stationary of course. There's not much time for spirited driving.

On my way back I was just near home and there's a spot where there's a humpback bridge and it's all closed in on each side. I wound down the front windows and listened as I burbled it through the streets, occasionally planting my right foot to get a good growl and whine from the Supercharger...those few moments made the journey! Laughing

I know the V8 is more expensive to run, but for me personally, the noise from this car makes the expense SO worthwhile. To anyone thinking of buying a Supercharged, do NOT hesitate, it's an excellent machine. I'm now at about 1600 miles in mine in 25 days of ownership and it just gets better and better. L319 D4 HSE

Even though personally I'd baulk at the silly mpg figures, I totally agree that the SC (in fact most V8s come to that) makes a gorgeous noise. I was driving back home from the station car park the other day and happened to follow a black SC all the way back through the back lanes to turn onto the A3 and as we turned onto the main road from the side road he booted it off making a gorgeous rumble in the process - he too had the windows down!

Have you taken it through a tunnel yet, RRUK? When I lived in London I used to love taking my M3 through the Blackwall tunnel when it was empty, completely different noise from the usual V8 rumble but great all the same! Cool

Fuel costs me enough in my TDV6, I shudder to think what you SC owners are spending on a monthly basis!

Cheers

I love the sound of a good V8 engine..
my dad has a 735i Se, a V8 engined 3.6, and even he puts his foot down in it just to hear the engine! (he is typical flat cap wearing older chap who doesn't really appreacite cars and driving - each to their own) he has only had the cars he has had because of my guidance (or bad influence!)

Never owned a V8 before, we used to love the sound of the creamy 6 pots we had before, but V8 is definitely worth the juice, also turns a lot of heads when u boot it off in a public place.. sounds like a jet engine or something taking off..
Not heard a SC in action yet, but i can imagine it sounds sublime..
