Iv'e only had my 2010 RRS for about 8 months, during which time its had to have an EPB module (paid for by warranty).

Drive one of the competitors then drive a D3/RRS then you’ll know why. Also if you check out the other owner forums they have there problems as well and can be just as expensive to repair.

The majority are probably trouble free apart from the obvious wear & tear parts. Forums are mainly there for advice on problems or moans about their cars needing fixed . Lets face it if people wrote in saying "my cars fine", there is no story |

This pretty much what I am beggining to think is the case with the RRS. I think the RX8 forum is one of the few where its predominantly positive that you read (but us RX8 owners are mental anyway!!).

I have had a pretty good time with mine and not spent a fortune spent a few quid buy not mad it has had a condenser a aux pump and a hose new plugs and coils so i think its pretty good and it still makes me smile when i put my foot down oh and mine also runs on gas if i want to |

Yes 3 times over - in May 2005 I took delivery of a new 2.7TDv6 SE - one of the first RRS’s on the roads, in late 2007 a TDv8 HSE and then in 2015 an SDv6 HSE. I had no breakdowns or components failures in owning each for three years all three cars were purchased new and run to between 23000 and 36000. I also never had to replace a tyre due to wear, on the TDv8 I had to replace 2 nears side tyres and wheels when they were shredded/smashed when I was force off the road by a lunatic motorcyclist trying to prove that he was indestructible - he wasn’t but at least her lived to see another day! Out of 11 Land Rover products I have only owned one, a 2014 RR Evoque that was unreliable. The most reliable has been my 1996 Defender TDi 300, now 22 years old and nothing mechanical has ever failed on it however I did break the transfer gearbox ........ enjoying an off-road driving day too much but I was still able to drive 100 miles on it with no oil in it to get it to the specialist who fixes it. Annual running cost for that run at less than £200 for servicing annually, but it does only do 1200-1800. Iles a year, 90% that off road. In 2011 I also had to replace the chassis due to severe corrosion which was a well known problem with that particular year.

I had a TDV8 that went to 174,000miles when I sold it. Sold it in the village and it's still going. I spent far too many beer tokens on it but it was worth it. Fabulous thing (when it wasn't occasionally being infuriating) and I regret selling it.

I am currently on my 4th Range Rover Sport - all purchased from new; The first three were all previous diesel models (L320) - purchased new in 2006, 2010, 2013. All of them were extremely reliable with the exception of anti-roll bar bushes requiring replacement on the earlier two vehicles (a common fault I understand). Unfortunately I have not been so lucky with my current 2018MY L494. Due to quality issues I have had to reject this vehicle and am currently awaiting a replacement! I would suggest that you budget for a decent warranty AND at the very least keep a pot of money on one side for repairs that will be inevitable on a complex vehicle of a certain age...…... |

Glad to see some positive stories then. The hunt continues for the diamond in the rough. Problem is where I am based there not many to pock from so gonna have to be a long journey which means you have to be pretty sire you want it. Not gonna travel 300+ miles just for a look!! |

We've had ours for 14 months and nothing has gone wrong. It's my daily driver which currently shows 55k having purchased it at 36k. We had a cracked windscreen which revealed a design fault leak but this forum came to the rescue with a how to. Lastly my choice to change the alloys as the ones they came with I wasn't 100% happy with. But as afar as the car is concerned it's been faultless. Its recently had a scheduled service but all the items replaced were service items. Mine is the small engine and old model and we love it, my wife can park it and she loves the commanding driving position. We are not fast drivers and are conscious of the size of the thing, fuel consumption is around 29/30mpg and we're old farts so insurance is cheap.
