RRS 2.0Litre Ingenium Diesel

Hi All First post for me, Does anyone know if and or why after introducing the 2.0L Ingenium engine to the RSS Range in 2017 Range Rover seem to have discontinued it from the Configurator on the ~Website and now replaced it with a 2.0L petrol Engine?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Too few people bought RRS with it I suppose......... perception being that it wasn’t beefy enough to haul, along the weight of the Sport. I recently drove a Disco5 with the same2.0ltr diesel and acceleration from stopped was grim, once up and moving it was fine but on hills where my 3.0SDv6 would climb in 8th gear the 2.o dropped 2 gears to keep up momentum.
The reason given for retaining the 2.0ltr petrol is that that engine lives on in the PHEV and has a higher output and torque than the old2.7TDv6 engine in D3 and Sport - they fail to mention that the 2.0ltr in real life driving is unlikely to give a better fuel consumption than 25mpg, ie only a tiny bit better than what the 5.0S/C will give you........ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
