More Dealer Woes

Hi guys,

Took my car to main dealer for its last inclusive service at 59k miles.
Left it for two weeks while I went on holiday.
Emailed while a way asking was all ok, told that service is all done and fine. Been having tracking issues so after £120 all in quote, I told the to do it.
I cam back to pick the car up and after my usual walk around, I spotted both LHD shells serverly kerbed!
I went straight back in and got the service manager out to show him. They accepted it was them. They have said "we will get your car in and have the body shop repair them" how are they going to repair them????
I then noticed they have done 45 miles in the car since they had it. My tracker shows they did a loop around the dealership about 10 times!!!! Why????

It sounds like your car has been used as the runaround as it’s been there for 2 weeks. My car was serviced last week and it covered .8 of a mile. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

There isn't a chip shop or sandwich bar on the 4 mile loop was there? Does your tracker show times/dates? If you can establish an obvious pattern not consistent with a test after repair, I reckon you have enough to talk to the dealer principle about unaurorised use of your car. leverage for a free service?

If your car has InControl,Secure then you can interrogate your InControl app that will have every stop and start recorded and you can easily read back to see the period when the car was in the dealership - it will even tell you the street that the car parked up and stopped on - problem will be if they left the engine running you will only get a there and back journey recorded. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Hi all,

Its my own tracker as I don't have the incontrol apps.

The car never stopped when doing the runs. It did a lap, back to garage then stopped etc.

not as the conspiracy theorists predicted.

If you don't trust the dealers why do you use them? Directed at everyone else who answered

The reporter mentioned tracking issues. If the reporter is that bothered then fit a dashcam

I normally have a dash cam but it's away being repaired. I still fail to understand why a normal service and wheel alignment required 45 miles of driving???
