Hi guys,

Had a couple of new tyres by my local guys, not a chain etc. Used them for years.
Mentioned car pulls slightly to left since I got the car a few weeks ago and to put it on the hunter.
They did and confirmed slightly out.
They did the changes and I witnessed it going from in the red into the green.
Drove home and car no longer pulls but steering wheel self centres at about 2 degrees out to the left.
Went back today and they re-checked, with me centering the wheel. Drove off and again 2 degrees out. Straight back, All setup again and appeared to be out very slightly. Adjusted again and I drove home, still the same. Now I watched the guys closely and all looked correct to me. But is there something they should do before or during the setting??

I thought to do it the car had to be in the tight tolerance mode which you can put it in with a diagnostic tool but i may be wrong

That I don't know. Would that cause the issue?

Four-Wheel Alignment

CAUTION: Make sure the vehicle is on a flat level surface.
CAUTION: Make sure the tire pressures are within specification.
CAUTION: Make sure that only the manufacturers' recommended four wheel alignment equipment is used.
CAUTION: Make sure there are no heavy objects in the vehicle.
CAUTION: Make sure the air suspension is set to NORMAL ride height.
CAUTION: Make sure the steering is in the straight ahead position.
CAUTION: Make sure the slip plates (turntables) are free to move before adjusting the geometry.

1. Check the tie rod ends, suspension joints, wheel bearings and wheels and tires for damage, wear and free play. Adjust or repair any worn, damaged or incorrectly adjusted components.
2. Check and adjust tire pressures.
3. Position the vehicle on a calibrated, level, vehicle lift.
4. Release the vehicle parking brake.
5. Using the approved diagnostic tool, check the air suspension control module for fault codes and clear as required.
6. Using the diagnostic tool, set vehicle to 'Geometry Set Mode', using the instructions below. Putting the vehicle into this mode will make sure that the ride heights are controlled more accurately.

Select the 'Configuration' tab
Select 'Set up and Configure'.
Select 'Air Suspension'.
Select 'Suspension Geometry Set Up'.
Select 'Tight Tolerance Mode'.

Follow the on-screen instructions until the set up process has finished.

So it needs a specialist that can set it to the geometry mode?

One supposed jaguar land rover specialist has just mailed me saying the car has to have standard smaller wheels fitted, set then the 22" wheels put back on? The current 22" wheels are standard?

Not sure about 22 inch wheels but you can put it in tight tolerance mode with an IDD tool

I don't have the tool. Does anyone know anyone in the Midlands that can do the alignment? Guess the tool is a few hundred quid

It makes no difference, usually it’s just their kit doesn’t accommodate bigger wheels

Lol lol I did think that as your aligning to the face of the wheel lol
But who can I get to do my tracking as I don't know anyone or where has the tool to set the car in the correct alignment modes etc

Just get under and adjust one track rod one way and the other side the opposite direction to centre the steering wheel.. 2 deg out would be 1/4 turn on each i recon.
But.. The same thing happened to a Audi I had a few years ago and it turned out to be the front tyres. No idea why.
