RRS 2008 strange behaviour with air suspension

Hi all, have a bit of a problem an i know you guys can help.

So, i went to skegvegas on friday, en route the orange suspension light came on. After a while it went off then on off and so on. Then the front end only dropped unti i sent suspension to off road and back to normal.

The same thimg happened saturday BUT sunday it went red and dropped to the bumps. Turned car off had a fag, and when i started car, no issues.

Then the orange light escapade started again.

Today ive plugged her in at mymates garage and we got the following:

C1A72 front left height sensor mechanism
C1A03 front left height sensor
U0421 invalid data received from ride level control module
U0132 lost comms with ride level control module

I must say this is intermittant as ive just been out in it and no issues.

We watched the height sensor mechanism whilst sending her up and down and both “seemed to work ok”

Is this simply, a new height sensor or am i looking at something more serious ?

Thanks all in advance !

Thanks for that !

I’ll have a look an replace the sensor.

Can they intermittently fail as in my description?

Cheers

So aside from a visual, can I do any electrical testing on the wiring ?

With it so intermittent it's not easy.

So it’s just failed with yellow light again.

Checked the 4x4 on the display and shows left front low although suspension is sat level.

If it’s hard to check wiring I’ll just change height sensor and see how that goes.

I'm having similar problems. 4x4 info showed o/s/f sensor at lowest point. changed sensor and while I was in there I changed the wiring as at some point somebody has snapped the locking lugs off the plug. Still getting amber suspension light and 4x4 info showing that wheel low. Live data on the diagnostics shows voltage going to the sensor but nothing coming back. I got another sensor from my independent as thought it was a faulty one they had given me; NOPE, fault still there. Therefore I suspect a wiring fault between where I soldered in the new wiring and the ride height control module. I am stuck offshore so can't sort it, but not looking forward to trying to trace it Rolling Eyes

I wonder if earthing that wire at that point you soldered it would help diagnose the issue? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I have exactly the same fault codes, did you get a fix in the end? Replaced sensor?
