I got a deal similar to Ozzie granted not quite as good. Wanted a v8 autobiography but couldn’t find one at the right price.
Just got a may 15 hse dynamic with almost 17k.
Finance worked out
£4.5k deposit
£440 pm
£35k gfmv

I was pretty happy with that, pcp works out great on used ones as residuals are so good.
I’ll not keep it more than 2-3 years anyway. Will weigh it up near the two year mark and price an extra years warranty against trading for something newer. 2015 HSE Dynamic, black, 22’s

Hey,

What was list price, Apr and was it approved used.

I would consider this sort of deal if I got the jlr 2 year warranty I think.

I would search here for the Used Approved RRS you are after then speak to Oracle or Magnitude for the better deal on PCP if the dealership isn't flexible on APR:

Just started a conversation with a dealer, having read yours and Ozzie’s deals. Needless to say they were nowhere fu**ing near! Which is literally the story of my life.

What is the APR on the dealer finance? Because most of them quote absurd rates and many don't budge from that.

Call Oracle or Magnitude and get a quote; I'll be surprised if isn't quite a lot better.

It was 9.2%. Which IS high, but still wouldn’t account for over £200pm more surely? Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

Easily could account for that much if you put it against the 6% APR or thereabouts potentially available from other sources.

Also the GFV/OFP makes a big difference; general rule of thumb the higher the monthly payment the lower the final value will be so dependent on what you plan to do once the PCP is up that need to be factored in.

A real life example:

Cash Price - £75,000
Deposit - £20,000

APR 8.2% (Black Horse Finance)
36 Monthly payments of £900
GFV/OFP - £34,000

APR 6.2% (Magnitude Finance)
36 monthly payments of £700
GFV/OFP - £40,000

So if I wasn't interested in keeping the vehicle after 3 years the 2nd option is far more favourable.

The above is a £200 per month difference with 2% difference in APR; for yourself the difference should be even greater as 9.2% is very high although sadly not surprising.

It’s not that 2 percent equals 200 pound per month more.
You’re absorbing the 6000 difference in final payments also. Eg 40000 against 34000. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

The 2 percent difference in this case equates to about 100 a month extra.

Yep, I get that. Did mention the GFV offsets the difference in monthly payments but probably didn't phrase it very well Thumbs Up

Bit lost now. So who sets the GFV? I’d assumed that was a finger in the air at actual value in four years. How is that influenced by the apr? Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

Try magnitude finance they have an online calculator you can play about with and was pretty spot on for me. Find a few used approved cars and try with the calculator. Like I said mine is a 15 plate and I got it for £48k with 17000 miles. Maybe look something a similar age and miles to mine. I found the miles made a big difference to the figures.
My apr is 6.9% from memory. 2015 HSE Dynamic, black, 22’s

Also with my car the dealers gfmv was almost the same as magnitude put it at I just got a better apr with magnitude. Until I actually put my deposit down and the dealer then offered a better apr. Too little too late 2015 HSE Dynamic, black, 22’s

The finance company sets the value . It’s not finger in the air , they look at the market and judge it with best information available factoring in Your mileage / term etc. That’s why finance companies won’t do more than 48 month future values or cars that are over 5 years old at the time of purchase . (There are exceptions but general rule of thumb)

The apr isn’t linked to the future value but that doesn’t mean the finance company won’t bundle together a rate and value as part of a package to certain clients. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

Thanks, been having a play with the calc. The best gfv I seem to be able to get for a 2015 has been 30k. Which is pushing the monthlies up.
