There were problems with senders in the fuel tanks in some cars so it could be the sender. Which year is the car - from the photo I can see it is after 2010 facelift but which model year? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ummm, I have reset the ECU. The fuel gauge worked for a few minutes then went back to empty. Is this a classic sign of a sender fault? I would have thought if it was the sender it would either work or not! |

If you look in My Gallery for file No. 37, you will find a PDF file which can be downloaded if you wish, which may help with your problem as it is a known issue.

Had the same fault about 6 months ago (2011 RRS). Got the same link from Col and forwarded it to our local Indie. Tank was dropped & sender unit connectors changed. Worked correctly since. Think I was charged about £80. |

I had my fuel tank sender wiring modified by the dealers under extended warranty as it was a known issue.
