MY 18 RRS - Ebony/Pimento (Red) Interior - Thoughts?

I'm in the process of ordering a Santorini Black RRS HSE Dynamic with Black Pack (22" Alloys). I had planned to get an Ebony/Ebony interior but was in my local dealership today for a DEF top-up and they had a Firenze Red RRS on display with a Ebony/Pimento interior - it actually looked really good and I thought it may break up the very black exterior of a Santorini Black car with Black Pack.

I only usually have black leather interiors. What are the thoughts on the red interior? How well does it last? Does it get dirty easily - I once had a silver/white leather interior and it constantly looked dirty! How popular are these interiors? I don't want to buy a car that I won't be able to resell in the future! Any advice would be appreciated.

If I was ordering a new RRS in black I would be speccing it with the red interior as I think red & black do look nice together. When I was looking for a supercharged in black I wanted one with the red interior but couldn’t find one at the time.

I think if future resell is a big consideration then anything away form the 'norm' can go against it and red leather interior is a love or hate thing. I immediately move on when I notice red leather. Once the leather ages it can look awful.

Tell the dealers that if they take £2000 off the listed price you’ll take it........... the Red and also the Tan interiors are big off- puts when re-selling a car, both to the dealers and to potential buyers. Looks great on an MG A but modern car buyers don’t seem to like brighter colours on leather. Personally I think it is really nice but having been stung when trading in a Tan interior Evoque I wouldn’t do it again (having been told it would be hard to sell on the dealer shifted it in a week! It was the something a bit different the buyer was looking for) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think it looks really good!

As a rule, whenever I have specced a new car, I have always gone for light interior if the exterior colour is dark and vice versa.

Some really useful input so far... thanks. Surely someone must have first hand experience with a red interior? Did you regret it 3 months later? Everyone I’ve shown the photo to so far thinks it looks great. I guess my concern is will it still look great in a few months/years and will I grow to hate it.

Not for me but if you are about looks then buy what puts a smile on your dial. I'm more interested in how the car drives and other functions so I won't own a Black or Red car as cleaning and fading is a function thing. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Looks fabulous Cool Just get it and worry about any impact on resale later ... I'm sure the stealers will find reason whatever the colour to bash you down on resale value.

I'm 6 months into an ebony, lunar, pimento interior; which I love and would have taken more pimento in the mix had it been an option. Prior to that I had ebony and cirrus and loved the way cirrus lifted the interior.

Let us know what you opt for! Current: Cayenne GTS (got fed up with waiting for LR to build my third RRS)
On order: RRS3 510e AB
Gone: RRS SDV8 AB, RRS SDV6, Vauxhall Nova 1.0, Nova 1.3 SR, Nova 1.4 SRi, Renault Laguna (why?), BMW 318is coupe (fabulous - despite having to buy a radio and tape player for it from Halfords), 323i saloon, 325ti compact (superb), 320td compact (awful), VW Golf 2.0d 4Motion (all the car you really need), BMW 120d compact (excellent), 118d compact (slow), 335d coupe (rapid)

Ive got a current red interior on my 2 year old evoque with white exterior, red and white i think also work. that said, i have my SVR on order and initially i did spec it with the red again (black exterior) but then i noticed that the red interior was covering the dashboard / half of steering wheel etc , i.e. it was more pronounced in coverage then my current evoque and decided it was 'too much' so changed the spec to black interior with red aluminium paddles instead to work with the red of the SVR logo in car and red callipers on outside

Ive enjoyed having the red interior last 2 years and no doesn't get dirty at all although i recall it was all treated as a freebie when i spec the car back then.

So i like it but on the '18 models it was too much for me for the money i am spending on the SVR .... go with it if you like it as worked for me on current car Thumbs Up MY18 Range Rover Sport SVR (18' - current)

If you like it get it, but expect to be chipped by about £2k less at trade in or re-sale due to the interior Current

I think it looks awful in pictures, but I've never seen it in reality. I ruled out any cars with red leather when I was looking for a nearly new RRS last year, though there were plenty about so other people must like it. Eventually I bought a new one anyway, and went with black/black. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

I have the red.... love it!

It seems to wear well and doesn't get too dirty (I live in jeans!). Plus it looks amazing against my Carpathian with the stealth pack!

I say do it.... you won't regret it! Now

Hi, I just ordered yesterday a HSE Dynamic in carpathian and with Ebony/Pimento. Iv'e yet to see it in the flesh so I hope I don't live to regret it. I think that it does look sporty and works well with a dark exterior. I do love the look of Ivory but its so impractical for my life style. I currently have a Cirrus interior and although its easier to keep cleaner than Ivory it still need a lot of maintenance.
If anyone has multiple photo shoots of there new MY18 Pimento interior, it would be great if you could post them. Thumbs Up 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

The main thing is "do you like it" Very Happy Your are not buying the car for the next owner, you are buying it for yourself. You will be screwed at trade in no matter the spec. Too many people are worried about the next owner
