Hi I change both on my l494 You need a trim tool essential to do the swap I removed the lining on the inside of the bonnet just simple clips let’s you get your hand under the vent Simply click the tabs and it pops of The wing is also easy with the trim tool but be very careful it has a sticky pad at the end you need to lift this first While doing that be very gentle there are two tabs that easily break Then slide forward and it comes of Good luck Ken |

Tks Ken,,yes I see the rear of the vents are held on with 3m tape so ill get something like fishing wire to separate that 1st.

I used a bike tyre lever on the side vents - start at the back and very gently pull the strakes out with your hand and then use the bike lever where you can feel the tabs are. Then just gently wiggle them out.

That what I was thinking HossBog,,its a bit cold for snapping the plastic tabs,,ill wait till it warms up slightly & probably heat them up with my blower I use for drying the car.

I also found out yesterday that the silver mesh in the bonnet vents can be detached from the black surround. It just clips in. You can pull it out by carefully popping it from the longest side. So you can spray the mesh without having to mask anything. Prob best to do it with the vents off the car tho! |
