badly need help.

I have a RRS 2.7 HSE. A few weeks ago one day the car was stalling from 0-3000RPM as if there was no power but after 3000RPM it was fine, next morning it stopped working. It was cranking but not starting.
Hence took it to the local garage first they said its the EGR, which were then bypassed. Then it was diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump is faulty hence the car is not starting.

Now since the location of the pump is under engine, says the body has to come out etc etc. I dont think he is equipped to take the car apart. However I found a good mechanic that suggested that High pressure fuel pump can be replaced by cutting a hole through the access panel without taking the engine out.

2 questions:
1st is it possible to change the HPP via the access panel.
2nd can anyone of you suggest a mechanic that can take this job on.

There is an electric (low pressure?) pump in the tank. THe tank requires dropping to replace. But little drama.

The HPFP it on top of the engine at the back. Body removal isn't required, (and manual may sugguest it)

There is certainly no "access panel". Maybe he was doing to cut some plastic which is ok.

Maybe best to take else where, or get confidence fuel is coming out the tank (therefore electric pump ok) and not out the HPFP.
