In general I think the cheap tyres can suffer delamination at high speed because of the running temperatures. Your (I think) examples are more about tread depth and design.

New tyres ought to do well in snow compared to nearly worn out tyres, irrespective of brand.

I would never put budgets on mine,,personally I wouldn’t fit budgets on any vehicle I own.mid range yes,I have General GT’s on my SC & they perform really well in wet & dry & I don’t hang about when driving.

Just offering my own observations in the snow. Like I said what you read online makes them out to be awful and that has not been my experience. Wanted to share with others. Thanks for all the replies. |

When my continentals cross contact uhp’s were dead, I replaced all 4 with Nexen Roadians HP‘s. And apart from slightly noisier on different road surfaces, I’ve noticed no difference in wet or dry grip. I’ve been out in the snow and driving well within the road conditions and they’re performing well for me. No negatives to say yet. They’ve been on now almost a year so probably about 12-15k miles so far. |
