The end may be near

I've had the RRS for almost 2 years, and whilst it's given me some headaches - which have been relatively easy fixes thanks to this forum, and easy compared to some of the issues i see. I love the car. Everytime the wife proposes trading it in for something smaller and less 'problematic' my response has always been, the only thing i'm trading the '06 RRS for is a newer one!!

However, she now comes at me with a conundrum, i have the RRS, she has a Jaguar XE, e-Performance, R Sport. but more often than not, one of our cars is sat in the drive. so a luxury. If we were to trade in both cars, for 1 car. We could probably survive with one car. I proposed a 2012 / 13 RRS, but she side swiped me with a Tesla Model S 60, 2015 facelift.

The monthly finance is the same, if not a few € less, the insurance would be easily 50% per year, car tax would be 75% less per year. And the RRS takes 94€ to fill the tank, the equivalent on the Tesla would be 12€ - and that doesn't take into account the free to use Super Charger that is 5 minutes up the road from us.

The downside is that we had a massive dump of snow yesterday, 30cm, and many cars were struggling but me and the RRS just drove through it all with a smug grin....... 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

so almost one month on and the headache is still real.
AS we were about to look at an exchange on a Tesla, the temperature dropped to -20 over the weekend, apparently the Tesla's lose 10km of range for every -1 degree. which would mean almost half the rnage of driving would have disappeared.

So the wife was back on the Lexus RC F-Sport, until we got to the showroom and she suddenly realised it was a 2 door coupé and that isn't suitable for a 1 car family.
It now comes down to 2.
A 2018 Mercedes Benz Coupé, Hybrid. 3000km on the clock AMG styling

or a slightly more expensive 2014 RRS HSE, 68000km with much more gubbins than the Merc.

Wife admits that the RRS is a much better drive and has much more presence than the GLC. but......

Who would have thought buying a car would be so hard. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

The steering wheel is on the wrong side Laughing I do like the Mercs....maybe time to try something different. I bet the reliability is better on them Thumbs Up Steve.

i imagine the reliability is better, but unfortunately 2 test drives and it doesn't have any kind of grin factor. floor it and it does shift, but so does the RRS. it's hybrid and so far on the 3260 km it has done the fuel efficiency is 10.7l/ 100km - RRS is currently 7.8l/ 100km.
Plus it looks like a BMW X4. and lacks half the comforts of the RRS, 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography
