Morning,,Im undecided what to do,,i might have someone that's after buying my business & if I sell I'm going to purchase a car transporter trailer just for buy the odd car from the auctions & I don't know wether to fit a towbar to my14 SC or go for something like a my16 SDV8,,the only downside is ill be putting 10-15k towards or do I keep the sc,i know it will be heavy on fuel towing a trailer but 10-15k of petrol is a lot & its not as if ill be towing every day......Anyway back to the original subject,,is it easy to fit a aftermarket towbar & whats the usual cost.?

Hi Andy,
Get a dealer fit L/R genuine removable bar
Should be less than £1000

Keep the original rear cover plate and you can put this on when bar not being used and no one will know

The towbar bolts a new rear cross member in place which the bar goes into. It looks like a ffrr bar

Ive just spoken to a friend of mine who fits towbars & he's quoted about £650,,he told me if I book it into LR they will then call him & make £400 out of it for doing nothing

Nothing new then

I know mine was fitted at the dealers as when we collected the car (done as part of the deal) they had to get the techy out that fitted it to show us how to use it
It was a new design and no one had used that type yet
