P400e / Ordered

Dear Gents

I ordered my new P400e Dynamic direct 3 Weeks ago. And this while my MY15 Hybrid is still in the Garage for swap of the down Engine (not the Hybrid)... Wink

Anyway, I assume there are 2-3 other LR guys on the way to order a P400e.
As there is no Information how the reduced boot space will look, I where searching hardly and yesterday I found this Pictures I wanted to share with you.

Seems the 46mm higher levelled boot Floor is still OK, and I assume the front-part covers a small storage space for cables and other stuff.

Hope this helps.
Best
René

Is that the new Byron Blue paint shade? I will not be proceeding with the purchase of a P400E - I think it is way overpriced and the 2.0ltr will struggle with the weight of the car in petrol mode. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, thats byron blue.

I am with you to see it overpriced for a 4 cyl. engine and I woudl prefere 6 cyl., but this is at the end a twin engine and the way it operates is much different than an engine without the electric Motor.

I drive now since 3 Years the SDV6 Hybrid, and the electric enginge changes the wohle drivetrain, as it delivers more torque every time you start up and on the rund, this reduces the rpm of the diesel engine and their noise.

As the engine of my car is now for a swap in the garage, so I have an regular SDV6 Dynamic, its much more noise and rpm needed to Speed up, and the power feelis around 10% less all the time. Even my Wife noticed this a few times... Wink

So I assume, the ride in the Petrol hybrid delivers a smooth, quiet ride with enough tourque. Also LR mentioned that the P400e is offroead even better to handle than the rest of the line, because of the tourque from the electric engine.

I see it that way: Pricewise is the P400e Dynamic for me the same (only 900 EUR more) as an SDV6 Dynamic, because all the offroad gimmiks, pano Roof, etc. are included for the P400e.

So we will see, what happens once I use it every day, maybe then I am dreaming from a V6 or V8... Wink

I agree with you that the PHEV is the way forward for me too, I have just had an Mini Countryman PHEV on loan for 4 days, it’s the first PHEV I have driven and I loved it, silent, little tyre noise and it was impossible to tell when it was running on its 3 cylinder 1.5lt Petrol engine. It was great to drive as well and I didn’t feel like there had been any compromise to make it a hybrid. Mini chose to give it the same tune of petrol engine as the rest of the cars in the Countryman range so having the electric bits is actually a bonus and it can be had in a Cooper Works version. OK so it isn’t as big as an RRS BUT it is at least sensibly priced unless you load it up with the endless list of options, but it is well equipped in basic £31500 version. I love my RRS’s but i’m not prepared to pay a heap extra for what I think might be a seriously compromised car - it should have the 3.0V6 petrol engine not the 2.0lt as it will have some 100kgs additional weight to haul around over the standard car with its extra motor and the battery pack.

Going back to the RRS P400E - the extra height of the boot floor might make it the only RRS that has a totally flat boot floor when the rear seats are folded! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The flat folding is the best argument ever for P400e... Wink

Thanks for sharing the Mini experience, thought this can’t be that refined.
I will check this also as an possible update for our „City“ car.

Mine is the Dynamic P400e, specced to € 110k.

I lease always 3 Years from LR direct, and on this lease I got a good discount, but only because I have so much trouble with my actual L494.
Means my discount is not realistic and replicable in a regular buying process.

Best René

I have ordered a Carpathian Grey colour which is an almost black. Never had a dark/black car... would that be hard to keep clean.

I love my Carpathian, especially with the stealth pack and dark glass... beautiful colour and does a reasonable job of hiding the dirt. Now

It’s a great color and in bright summer light it is a rich and deep grey, only in the dark or winter month it is more a charcoal.
Very tasteful color... Thumbs Up 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Renaco is there any news about when you will get your new PHEV? I’m being told that the makers of the electric side of mine are struggling to meet demand and BMW use the same supplier as JLR for the electric motor side of the PHEV. My delivery has now gone back to Mid-June and I am seriously considering cancelling and keeping the Sport despite the doubts about the SDv6 crank snapping. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Build Dates

Renaco, Tim,
Do you both have build dates then. I have held off ordering whilst I have watched the problems. Although in fairness I made my decision last December this is what’s next. Just wondered if firm dates now exist for you both. Might have to finally commit.
Thanks lads,
Dave

Update: I have been offered a P400 HSE Dynamic as a cancelled order to be delivered in July - so these may well start to appear towards the end of Summer. Thumbs Up
