So just like any other Monday morning, jump in the RRS for my 5 am commute (120 mls), to Cambridge, A1, A14, M11 etc. Alls well until I pull into work, and a 90degree left hand bend followed by a 90 degree right handler, nothing faster than 10-15 mph, and a horrible grinding noise from OS front corner, but no warning lights, quick look underneath but nothing obvious. Lunchtime a much closer look reveals nothing, a 10 minute test drive and all seems well...
4.30 and the trip back North beckons, 15 mins in another strange noise, this time a rubbing sound, next lay-by I have another good search around but nothing, noise disappears again, another 5 minutes and the dashboard is like a Christmas tree, no EBD, No park brake, cruise control not available, forward control disabled, no terrain response available DSC not available, all amber lights, but a distinct squeak, only audible with the window down has definitely took root. A couple of call to LRMD and instructed to limp home but stop if any warning lights turn red.
Now this is a 68k, MD serviced 2010 MY RRS, TDV6, last serviced at 62k, MoT’d in Nov 17 and I do have a warranty...but any thoughts what it might be, easy / simple fix, engine and drivetrain unaffected, suspension won’t change from normal “for safety”...I know there’s a default for quite a few systems if just one is detected faulty, it’s the noise that worried me, and seemed like the brake or wheel got incredibly hot...gonna try and sort tomorrow at Stratstone Nottingham or Eppetstone LR...how’ve has quickest response...!
