RRS Mk1 3.6D V8 Battery removal

Does anyone have a step by step guide to removing the battery. The cables seem so short that you cannot remove them from the terminals???

Unlock car, drop to access height, open bonnet, remove battery cover, wait for systems to power down, disconnect terminals and move to one side, grab handles and hoik battery out. Consult physiotherapist regarding back sprain.

If your description is accurate maybe someone crammed in a battery that is taller than the correct size? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I use a plastic bottle top (water/squash) to put over the battery terminal once its disconnected.

That stops it making contact again, while you free a bit of cable.

think it must be taller, as seems tight in. Will post a pic tomorrow. Thinks its the battery as the initial reading before charging was 11.4, after charging 13V. When running showing 14.4v so think the alternatoris ok?

Not much free play on the cables,,, if I remember when I changed mine,,, take off securing bracket then positive terminal and cover it with something. Pull the battery towards the front of the car as far as it will go then take off the neg terminal. Reverse the procedure when refitting 2010 RRS, TDV8

Way to loe on the reading the positive is the harder one you can push the negative to the side but the positive you need to pull up so the gromet actually comes out of the battery case surround it will come out and move away Thumbs Up
