I've got some very bright LED main beam lamps, but whilst they are brighter and project further they don't cover the sides of the road as much as I'd like - it might be the brightness of the main beam that spoils the contrast. Pheasants and deer seem to want to commit suicide. Having a bit of flexibility seemed a good idea. |

My 2012 SDV6's lights aren't as good as my 08 TDV8's lights, that's for sure. I'm going to have a play with them to see if a bit of adjustment helps - I think it will. The 08 has AFS which is excellent but is something else to fail - been there! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Wiring the AFS side-projection lights with the high-beam was something I considered experimenting with. |

AFS is swiveling headlights. The fixed corner beam that you refer to isn't part of AFS. My non-AFS has fixed corner beams. Anyway, light out to the sides on main beam doesn't really bring much to the party. Light reaching down the road is what is needed. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
