Just been reading about the range detachable towbar issue, I know it was raised a while ago but can I still get it checked and if it's ed will LR do anything. I'm still looking at the moment 2005-2008 my but I'll be towing a hand built tin tent weighing 2 ton nose weight around 119 kg If it ain't broken down it soon will

You'd need to ask your local LR dealer about it.

If you're pulling a heavy van and doing so regularly then a permanent bar would be better. Indeed LR will tell you that the detachable one is only for occasional / light use. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

if the car has not been through the recall yet then it should still be done. the dealer can tell you from your reg or chassis number.

I happily use our removable for the tintent, unless you use it every weekend that is
