Do you

let the vehicle go through its checks and wait for all the warning lights to go out, if not then that could be your issue. Had the same on my 2011 and I always let it go through its check process with now further issues

Hi Scousefly,
Thanks for the reply, I do normally let it go through its checks as I have had a suspension fault message 'lean angle' come up
if I'm to hasty with the start up, today it was -1 and the glow plugs took a little while but I always wait for them before I crank the engine.
It was working fine on Friday but nothing this morning?, I do hope you're right though as It would be the first cheap fix Ive come across on the RRS! Regards,

Danny

So when I left work yesterday I made sure I let the checks run as per normal and the audio was back but this little gem appeared!
As previously mentioned I have had this come up if I'm a bit hasty with the crank but that was definitely not the case?, It cleared after a restart and the audio was also fine this morning! so who knows!
 Regards,

Danny

Danny,

stab in the dark.... have you had your battery tested, i have read it can cause numerous issues if not fully charged... also rear brake lamps throw up issues.. not sure how the both above would affect the radio but worth checking...

Hi PC76,
Thanks for the reply, I haven't had it checked but with the recent cold weather it does tend to finish off batteries that are not too healthy so yes definitely worth a check!, I have heard that you can get some odd faults! Regards,

Danny

A knackered battery can do all these things you say plus a lot more as well get a volt meter across the terminals and see what you get static and then with the engine running and also with it running and everything electric on Thumbs Up

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the reply I haven't had any problems since but hopefully over the weekend i'll get the fluke out and check the voltages as suggested. Ill post the results once I have done it. Regards,

Danny

These are very battery sensitive, get it on a C-tech charger. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I used to get a no audio issue on my MY08 TDv8 sport, everything would function as normal and there wouldnt be any fault codes, but no sound would come out from any source. Disconnecting the battery for a couple of seconds would solve the issue, then it would come back a few days later. Theres a guide on how to do a reset on the system, you dont need to do that, just follow the guidance about waiting for it to not be doing anything, then lift the negative terminal. Hardest part is putting the cover back on the battery box!

I spent £180 on a new AGM battery and its been fine for the last 14months Smile

My old battery would test ok, but I think it was struggling when the systems all booted up sometimes, hence the audio system didnt work properly.

Hi d-9,
Many thanks I will keep that in mind, useful hint!
If I don't need to buy a new battery that would be great I will have to check through its paperwork to see if its had one at some point? As SVR575 mentioned (Thanks!) a good charge may also help and I can get my hands on a C-Tech charger so may give that a go also. Regards,

Danny

Well I have not had the issue again? so so far so good!
I did test the battery today with a meter and saw the following
Standing Voltage 12.3V
Running Idle Voltage 14.7V
Running Idle loaded 13.1V (Heated seats front/Rear, Heated screens front/rear Fan Max)
Keyed off Recovered Voltage 12.7V
I couldn't find a date on the battery but It was definitely not the original, looks good to me? Regards,

Danny
