Home > General > Has my RRS chipped itself ....? |

Now with 20,000 miles on the clock, my RRS seems to be getting noticeably quicker. Off the market acceleration is distinctly more sprightly and mid range has more grunt and go as well.... almost feels like she has been chipped, but she hasn't. She also hasn't been in the dealer since 12,000 (early 1st service) so no remaps there .... Now this might simply be either :

My previous Td5 certainly started performing better and better as it accumulated the mileage. In fact some owners will swear the car keeps on improving even after 40,000 kms! Malaysia Boleh!

The TD5 engine management had two steps in the performance it would allow, first at 1000miles or thereabouts and the second at 3500miles (giveaway on the auto is that the cruise control had access to full power from the start - must had been a bit of lazy code in the s/w), leading to the press demonstrators being noticebly better than cars fresh from the showroom. 20,000 miles seems a lot for this effect though..... ENVOY, What Cobra do you have? I've been seriously considering a Kirkham and the current exchange rate makes it look very attractive. I put a picture of my old Cobra in my gallery. Paul |
