I am giving serious thought to purchase of a 2017 MY HSE Dynamic. On face value a new car looks to be a better option than nearly new due to lower PCP interest, finance contribution, and discount.
Rockar and Drive the Deal seem to be offering discounts of around £5.5K including the £2K PCP finance deposit contribution.
Can anyone suggest any better options for a very good deal - any view on whether deals on new cars will get better in advance of 2018 MY release?
When are LR likely to stop accepting orders for 2017 MY cars?

Have had 3 Sports to date - all Santorini with Ivory leather (creature of habit !!) but may consider a change (ish) ......
Any views on Farallon Black or (shock horror) Silicon Silver ??

Some dealers have already stopped taking orders for MY17 but there will still be plenty stock available around.  John

It's been reported on here that LR are already not taking orders for MY17, i.e. if you order now, it will be a MY18.

Find a stock RRS and drive a hard bargin, be easier if 'in group'. Gone:

Placed my order on Friday with Simon Lewis at Farnell in Leeds and had a great deal on a Carpathian HSE Dynamic with stealth, 22's, sun roof, service pack, privacy, body coloured spoilers and heated wheel.

Pick it up in two weeks - cant wait to get back in a Sport after having a 2 year foray into the world of the XJ.

The XJ is an awesome saloon but frightening depreciation - got mine one year old otherwise I'd be throwing a rope over a tree.

Hope you're pleased with your new RRS!! I did in fact visit Farnell Leeds back in August to look at a couple of nearly new 2017MY Sports and also briefly discussed options for a new one.

However, in the end, (and your post has prompted me to update my thread) I placed an order for a 2018MY with Rockar!
Provisional build date of 15 December so watch this space.....

Now starting to think about the best way to sell my 2013 HSE Black Edition.

Thanks for posting this. I just looked at Rockar and they are offering a decent price off a run-out MY17.

So I called my local dealer - and he offered even more. I'm going in to see him on Wednesday.

Syl from my experience you should be aiming for around 10% + discount on a stock my17 this quarter, doesn’t matter how they jaz it up with free service pack, discount, deposit contribution if taking finance etc, try Farnells in Leeds if you want a guide, they offered me the best deal but unfortunately their car just wasn’t 100% what I was after, found the right one at another dealer & paid slightly more but got what I wanted with around 10% off overall.

It's perhaps not exactly what I would have ordered, but it's pretty much there and I don't need any options over standard autobiography anyway. Sure, a large washer bottle and full size spare might be nice but not essential. The extras are just there to get carried away with.

Good, when I was looking some dealers were still trying to play hardball with no or very little discount even though the my18 had been announced, yes my AB has a few bits but nothing major but the colour scheme, trim etc was exactly what we wanted.
