Will 4 pot brembos fit with 18" alloys?

What spare wheels do they supply with brembo vechicals ?

No,,,you need 20’s but some OE 19’s fit over them,,but check first with 19’s as someone on here bought some & they wouldn’t go over the brembo’s.

I would have said the only 18s that would fit with Brembos are Compomotive PD1881s 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

As far as I am aware there is no LR OEM 18” alloy wheel that will fit over Brembos, the smallest is an OEM 19” and even then only a few of those designs will fit. There is one design of 18” that was specially made for the Bowler Nemesis ( off road racer RRS look a like) and some members here have them but they are hugely expensive and rare.

I was the someone who couldn’t get the 19s I bought to fit over front Brembos.

19" came with the basic model 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater )))

TDv6 S - 17” 5 split spoke 235 / 65/R 17 with the option of 18” 10 spoke 255/55/R18
TDV6 and 4.4 V8 SE - 18” 5 Split Spoke 235/55/R18 with option of 19” 5 V spoke 255/50/R19
TDv6 HSE & 4.4 V8 HSE - 19” 5 V spoke 255/50/R19

What do these drive like in the UK with snow? (with big/wide wheels)

The sheer weight of them and road tyres concern me a bit

Think I would leave the RRS at home and take something else FWD down the motorway.

I hope your joking Andy with the right tyres wide or not the Rangie would run out of ground clearance before it run out of grip! Have done many Alps trips in deep snow and ice and they are unstoppable.

Andy, have no fear about road tyres in the winter, I drove the TDv8 from Southampton to Stirling in 2009 on the summer 20” wheels through lying snow the whole way and the only problem I had was the Adpative Cruise Control continuously showing “no cruise available - sensor blocked”. Provided your tyres have decent tread left on them then the Terrain Response is your friend, set in Grass, Gravel and Snow (remember you don’t have to be in low range to use Terrain Response, except for rock Crawl they all work in high range too) the car was able to get up to normal motorway speeds after a while when the systems had decided that there was enough grip available. I had not put my winter wheels onto the car before the trip south so was a bit concerned that I might have a problem on 20” summer tyres, but even when I got into very deep snow on the totally unploughed M74 north of Gretna the car handled superbly and I was even able to help tow a couple of Cayenne’s and X’5’s onto the hard shoulder to get them out of the path of all the Land Rovers and Subarus speeding past them.......
RRS and all the Land Rover products do have one problem in snowy weather though............ they are very heavy and they then take a lot to stop in slippery conditions and slide a very very long way when they loose it........ABS is of no use when you are sliding, remember also if you do reach the ground clearance limits in very deep snow to disable the DSC temporarily otherwise you will not get the full power you might need to get unstuck 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Winter tyres on 4x4 are there to improve braking and cornering. So long as you're not on ice and have some throttle sensitivity, 4x4 traction will be sufficient even on summer tyres. All those 4x4 in winter hedges are testament to their drivers forgetting that four wheel drive doesn't help braking or cornering!

Using the tools available on the RRS makes them extremely adept in winter conditions. Sadly, most will never have used low range, for example, but on a steep icy hill, low range and HDC will allow walking pace to be maintained all the way down. You don't even need to select snow on Terrain Response. HDC works on the level too, of course, which is useful in very slippery conditions. It also works in reverse which is forgotten/unknown by many. I have used low range and HDC to slowly reverse down a slippery hill in order to tow someone back up.

Sometimes, using rock crawl on Terrain Response gives good results because it starts off with the centre diff fully locked. Traction control is also set to maximum to minimise wheel spin.

Going out on a snowy day and having a gentle play with the systems is to be recommended. Just remember that the Laws of Physics are always watching you and waiting for a mistake!  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
